Just upgraded to beta 7 and found that there are two more dependencies.

I wonder if it is a good idea to have too many dependencies.

There is only one more 'real' dependency and it's Job Scheduler. While the upgrade has been a little bumpy (I am working on a fix right now) the new architecture is much cleaner. As a result we wind up with code that is much easier to maintain.
