Get following error when running update.php after updating files from photos-6.x-2.0-2 to 6.x-2.6:

An error occurred. http://[site]/update.php?id=11&op=do
Fatal error: Call to undefined function photos_set_count() in [sitepath]/sites/all/modules/photos/photos.install on line 300

Any help would be appreciated.

Any suggestions? Should I completely uninstall and re-install the module?

Almost 1 year and no response! Very frustrating application! I will try to remove this any other module that even hints of being problematic. I suspect that won't leave me much to work with.
