My company is in the process of desiging a site using Drupal. This is gonna be a fairly large project and we want photos and photo galleries to look good and be easy enough for anyone to use. Anyone have any input on what is the best module to use?

Thanks

I have had success with "Gallery."

Personally I like the image module (which includes image_gallery). It is easy to use, light weight and does not depend on any external packages. And with a bit of css the output can typically be themed to meet ones needs. What is lacks are the bells and whistles of other packages (such as gallery) but for my needs so far the simplier approach has meet the sites needs.

Yes, I forgot to mention that you need to have an installation of gallery running apart from Drupal to have the module work. If you're looking for a simple solution, you may want to check out the image module first.

Thanks for the help. We will check it out. Also, will the image module help with getting photos posted with stories? Out of the box you can upload images with stories, but they are just attachments.

Thanks again.

Hi Marylopez68
I use Gallery2 and drupal . They are intergrated and themed together seamlessly . Using the BBCode module and Quicktags adding pictures to posts is a breeze. Gallery2 becomes your multimedia management centre basically . I have the default first resize set to a size that will not break the layout of the post pages , and have made a number of buttons for quicktags that will add just a pic , or pics that link back to the original or album.
There is , imho, nothing better than these two together. Once you master the taxonomy and categories of drupal , nothing touches it in forums or blogs , and gallery2 is simply the best.

Is there some way to use a Photo rating system on Gallery2? Like rate from 1-10

I'm not saying Acidfree Album is the best gallery module but we are currently using this for Harris' Gallery. There are some hacking to be done to make this working with Lightbox2 Slideshow though. We will also use this revised module for the TFCN though the site is still under construction. I like the mass importing feature of this module.

For the next website project that we will be working with soon, I might try other gallery modules available. So far, we already tried Image Gallery and BitTorrent. These two modules are quite good also but not as good as Acidfree Album.
