Please provide documentation about i18nstrings_translate_langcode_xx

AFAIK the use of $conf['i18nstrings_translate_langcode_xx'] is documented nowhere.
It really should, as what I first thought was a bug was just happening because this variable was not set to TRUE for the French langcode.
I had to look inside the code to find this feature!
