I am building a new site with the latest versions of views and views slideshow. In Firefox, all is well. In IE8 the images do not seem to load in advance. On a slide transition, the image is loaded in parts (instead of the smooth fade transition that I selected).

This is the testsite:
http://www.themasterlabs.com/sai/

This is the drupal.settings:

This is a bit of a showstopper for the site going live. Any ideas?

Nobody with the same issue? IE8 works fine everywhere?

Can anybody please confirm that this problem is real? Or does it only affect the computers I work on? Nobody has seem the same thing elsewhere?

I also receive this problem. In IE when the images transition, they appear to be distorted or sliced in the middle until they stop moving. I have not found a solution for this as of yet. Has anyone?

I'm getting the similar behavior in IE8, except only with the captions. All but the first caption in the set load with the bottom cut off at first. It's not just the bottom lines that are cut off, but the bottom part of the lines that initially appear are cut off at first. Odd.

Cancel that. Turns out my problem is of my own making. Clashing CSS is the culprit.

I'm on IE8* and I just updated.

Now the slider isn't showing - at all.

I'm going to try and go back to an earlier version to see if that works.

I just updated a bunch of modules.

We'll see.

Do the developers ever test their updates in all browsers or what?

(*edited had 7 at first)

@mattwmc This module is installed on many many sites. It works in all browsers on many many sites. Unfortunately as a developer I can't account for every nuance and every possible IE bug. To answer your question as much as I can, but unfortunately I don't have an IE browser to always test with. But if you are offering then I'd happily accept your help in testing every patch that goes through here with every browser.

I just switched to an earlier version and I got the same issue.

Has to be a conflict with another mod that I updated.

I'll have to revert each one back and see which one.

I see the source is there for the menu, but its not showing in IE. probably some javascript conflict with another dang mod.

mattwmc’s picture

Awesome! I figured it out on the first try.

Its conflicting with the latest Clicky analytics mod (http://drupal.org/project/getclicky) update: 6.x-1.5.

Reverting back to 1.4 fixes the problem.

I'll inform them over there.

Hey, I'd be happy to test any patches for the menu I use on my site.
