Images not showing on group pages

We have been making light use of Image Assist 5.x-1.4 for some time on a Drupal 5.19 site and it has worked just fine. Recently, however, we added a couple of images to a group page and they don't show when viewing the group page, but the one which is above the break *does* show on the taxonomy term page which contains that group page. I don't know that we have tried putting an image on a group page before. But, this seems peculiar. I don't see any settings which would cause this. Any help ... other than moving to the current version of D6 and all modules, which we hope to do, but not right now.
