In my system, mailhandler works perfectly when called from the menu by an administrative user. However when run through cron, errors are generated for each message read and processed by it. `

this might be a dupe of http://drupal.org/node/view/9405 - in either case it effectively renders mailhandler useless if it has to be run manually.

Probably a duplicate. I attached a patch to the other report.Let's hope it goes into core.
