argeebee

Bèr Kessels - August 20, 2005 - 16:38

argeebee is a theme that aims at real easy colorscheme based themeing.
Without becoming too technical, this means you only need to change approximately nine colours in a CSS file, and viola, you have your personal theme.

Note for 5.0 Users.
Since Drupal 5 comes with Garland, which is an argeebee on steroids, I will disconinue development in favor of the garland theme.

This theme uses PHPtemplate.

Garland vs argeebee

I've tried Garland and found it to have a bug or two, plus it lacks some obvious functionality.

Bug 1 is the way it handles two-level menus. In the Primary Links, the "expanded" function doesn't work. However, it does work in the Navigation Menu. That's fairly easy to fix in the source code, but probably not worth it because of

Bug 2. Well I consider it a bug; maybe I'm missing something. If you don't expand the menu item, clicking on the main item takes you to the (mandatory) link for that level of the menu, rather than showing the sub-menu. In other words, the sub-menu becomes invisible. This one is probably not worth messing with because what's really needed is mouse-over display for the un-expanded menus.
