This is for an organization that coordinates several smaller meetings in a relaxed yet controlled manner. People attend the meetings at their convenience but the leaders of the meetings are controlled by the parent organization. It is being used by a computer users group that organizes many groups that focus on specific topics. The club maintains control of the groups themselves but leaves attendance open in an ad-hoc manner.
This was originally done with a complex taxonomy and role scheme which would take too much time and would require more skill than is realistic for a voluntary organization. So the creation and maintenance is being automated with three modules: groups, officers, and reports.
The first module is completed (groups) which will allow for creating and scheduling groups (aka S.I.G. or special interest groups) to created and maintained. Next will be officers (volunteers) and reports.
In the future more capabilities may be added such as paying dues and taking donations online, creating a PDF newsletter from reports filed online, etc.
This is tailored to a specific club and that clubs needs. If you feel I am missing a vital function, please contact me.
This module is sponsored by North Orange County Computer Club in Orange California.
