The Content Taxonomy module defines a field type for taxonomy terms. Here is a simple module that provides formatters using Taxonomy Image for this type.
Formatters are provided for the ORIGINAL profile and available ImageCache presets. Images can be displayed as they are, or as links to the corresponding taxonomy term page.
This project was initiated as an issue queue by mongolito404 at #534450: CCK Formatters for Content Taxonomy. Almost 2 years after, he suggested creating a sandbox project as he's got no time to maintain this whereas some new fixes and features are contributed.
