This module won't be developed further unless a use case arises. Using the Userpoints Contrib modules userpoints_nodelimit does much the same thing. The functions it lacks will be submitted as a patch to that module (specifically URL redirection of the user if they lack the credits to post a particular type of content).

The Credit module allows administrators to define a credit system for posting content of a particular content type. On its own this module does very little. When combined with e-commerce modules or user karma/points modules it can be used to store a balance of 'credits' for users. Each credit allows the user who holds that credit to post one node of a particular type. For each node type a redirect page can be set. Users without credits to post a given node type will be redirected to this redirect page.

The anticipated use cases for this module include allowing users to earn or purchase credits in order to post nodes for the following sorts of things:

  • Conference registrations
  • Job postings
  • Classified ads
  • Community organization listings
