A Windows XP style javascript alert showing the Message.

This module blocks the context menu to pop up for instance in order to prevent the user from downloading images. But you can also use it on various other elements. Its possible to enter a configurable message that pops up whenever the user tries to open the context menu.

You should not use this module unless your client demands you to. Try to convince him not to want this feature. This is an anti-feature!

Here are some tips for arguing:

Reasons not to use this module

  1. It won't safely protect your content. Users will still be able to download your pictures by turning off javascript or in endless other ways. Some browsers won't let you prevent the context menu. If you don't want your files to be downloaded don't upload them in the first place.
  2. You hurt the usability of your webpage. Your visitors may miss features that they are used to have from other websites, like sharing or searching a selected term on wikipedia or google.
