With Explorer 8 Mode can be defined how the Internet Explorer 8 displays all pages from an Drupal installation.
Usage
It's easy.
Administer the enabled module and choose which document compatibility mode to use. Two clicks and you're done.
Use case
A Drupal web site will not display correctly with the Explorer 8. In this situation you have two possibilities.
- Possibility 1
- Optimize CSS for Explorer 8. For large sites this may mean a lot of work. And what happens then if the Explorer 8 optimized Web site is visited using Explorer 7?
The best answer comes from Microsoft itself. Visit the Microsoft website: The document compatibility mode is set to use Explorer 7. - Possibility 2
- Use the Explorer 8 Mode module and choose "Emulate IE 7". Two clicks and you're done.
Use examples
An example is the Gallery Assist module. For display problems of galleries - incorrect image sizes, users of the module should use Explorer 8 Mode.
Internationalization
Translations into other languages are welcome.
