Eye-drop is hibernating. Although there is no great solution AFIACT, two alternatives at this stage are:

http://drupal.org/project/imagecrop
I've done a quick review and imagefield_crop is closest to what I hoped eyedrop would become. But other than some flakiness in the editor, it prolly should use imageapi, and it should also have a rotate feature.
