HeyWatch CCK Field

phillamb168 - March 25, 2008 - 16:43

Introduction

This module provides a field for CCK that allows, via the HeyWatch! API, the encoding and transcoding of uploaded video. Eventually this module will support the Amazon S3 storage system, effectively offloading all of the server-based heavy lifting that, for example, a youTube-like service would require. Donations towards the development and maintenance of this module can be sent via PayPal to Phillip.Lamb@gmail.com.

Estimated Release Date, 5.x Module: May 15th, 2008

Unfortunately these dates have been pushed forward by a few days due to the recent death of my cat. I'll update this page once I have firm dates for release; most likely I'll be done by April 15th and then April 22nd.

Estimated Release Date, 6.x Module: TBD, most likely late April May.

Update (May 1, 2008)
Well, after much delay, the beta version is almost ready for rollout. Currently, I've got the API integration running fine, but there are some issues with the way I've set up the CCK fields. Currently, you're required to put in multiple iterations of the field, per node type, in order to have multiple types of encoding per node type. So I'm moving the config to a new, multiple-select field, to fix this issue.
