Node Taxonomy Notifications

the greenman - July 18, 2008 - 16:44

A Notifications plugin that allows users to subscribe to information updates based on a node's taxonomy. Primarily designed to integrate with nodeprofile to allow people to tag themselves, and receive updates based on the terms they have assigned to their nodes.

Usage examples

This module has been developed for School of Everything to keep users up to date on their interests. We use this module in conjuction with the taxman to allow users to tell us what subjects they are interested in.

A high level description of how this module was initially developed and implemented is available at http://drupal.org/node/284675.

Notes
This module does not use the notifications_ui. The idea of using node taxonomy was so that we could use other taxonomy management tools instead of the standard notifications forms. Nothing should break if ui is active, but, we have so far not tested interactions.

Development Release

The current release is a development release that has been genericised from School of Everything's internal code. Although the main system
is stable and actively used, we have not yet tested this outside of our environment.
