The end goal here is to build a standard "sample" database for Drupal.
I don't know if you ever had the pleasure of working in M$ Access, but there was a DB it came with called "Northwind"
It was a fictitious company, contained tables for Products, Orders, Customers, etc. It had some forms and some reports. It was a very valuable tool for learning to use the system, and for documentation.
If we had something similar for Drupal, it could be used for the following:
- Benchmarking performance because
A man with a watch knows what time it is. A man with two watches is never sure.
- Segal's Law - End user docs
- Standards in content for Theming
- Ease of development
I want to use "real" content for this - not greeking, it should come together and be a real looking site for a newspaper, business, or something.
However. I don't have budgeted time for that right now :(
We do have devel generate, and to start with, I am building an install profile, which, given some parameters will generate some content on the new site. Because we have cli installs, this can also be scripted now.
Please, suggest a better name.
