This module extends the Notifications module and its included notifications_tags sub-module with UI enhancements specific to forums.

The core forum module uses hierarchical taxonomy terms to define the forums and containers. As a result the Notifications module treats forum subscriptions as subscriptions to "tags".

This module cleans up the UI with the following enhancements:

  • Subscribe to forums on the user registration form.
  • Change "Subscribe to: This tag" and "Subscribe to: This post" to "Subscribe to: This forum" and "Subscribe to: This thread" respectively
  • Add a sub-tab under the user's notifications tab to manage forum subscriptions
  • Put a Subscribe/Unsubscribe link under each forum on the forum list (at /forum)
  • Put a Subscribe/Unsubscribe link above the forum topic list (by the link to add a new topic)

Drupal 6

The Drupal 6 version depends on Notifications 4.x and Messaging 4.x, which only have -beta releases so far. IT WILL NOT WORK WITH THE 2.x VERSIONS!!
