This module defines an entity that represents parties, that is, people or organizations.
People can be users or non-users, and in either case can have profile2 entities attached to them.
Further entities can be supported, such as (eventually) Drupal Commerce customer profiles, activities, relationships and so on.
The Party module is thus designed to be the core of a planned Drupal CRM: discussions about its architecture can be found in the native Drupal CRM group, http://groups.drupal.org/crm-api.
If you want to get involved, there are some issues we've tagged as ones that should be quick to get started, without having to get your head round all the concepts.
Status
Party module is being extensively developed with a view to being production-ready in the near future.
