This module, as of new knowledge, is obsolete. I will create a video how to do that with views and will link it here.
The Taxonomy Term Children Module provides a block that shows all children of the current taxonomy term (only 1 level depth!). It is like the categorys block in the mediawiki system. We created the module because we use a wiki-like drupal for internal notes. See screenshot.

If you made a theme for the module and want to contribute it, feel free to put it in the issue queue. If i get some themes i will implement theme/switching like other modules do.
Install
Enable it like any other Module. Take a look at the README.txt for detailled instructions and additional tips.
