Taxonomy Term Menu

Note: the functionality offered by this module has been integrated into the Edit Term module, along with other niceties; this module is now obsolete (barely got a look-in, really!)

This module allows adding menu entries for taxonomy terms when adding or editing the terms (in the same way that they can be when adding/editing nodes). This is available to anyone with administer taxonomy and administer menu permissions.

The motivation for this is that there's no user friendly and flexible way to do this. The two current broad options for creating menu items for taxonomy terms are:

• Copy the URL for the term into the menu item addition form manually, which can be tedious and isn't user friendly.
• Use an automated menu creation module (eg http://drupal.org/project/taxomenu and http://drupal.org/project/taxonomy_menu). The main problems/limitations with these are that they
  • use special paths and/or rendering methods that can make it difficult to integrate with other modules (eg http://drupal.org/project/pathauto and http://drupal.org/project/edit_term), and
  • they're inflexible in that one can't choose certain terms to include or not include, or indeed have a menu layout that differs at all from the taxonomy layout.
