Upload Package
Note from the security team: this module requires your webserver to be able to write Drupal modules. This is inherently insecure. Usage on live sites is strongly discouraged.
Upload Package module allows you upload modules through Drupal's administration interface. It enables a new task on the Drupal module and theme administration page. This task will let you enter a URL containing the project package tarball or enter a tarball file to upload. After submission, the form will unpack the uploaded tarball and place it the directory you've specified on the Upload Package settings package. Uploading modules that already exist will overwrite the existing module files. Obviously, since this form enables uploading of code to your site, some precaution is to be taken with this module. It is recommended that you only upload modules from trusted sources such as drupal.org.
NOTE: This module is dependent on PEAR's Archive_Tar package.
