The webcomic module is designed to maintain an online comic or graphic novel. It can be used for simple strip-a-day comics as well as more complex graphic novels, where organization by storyline and issue are essential.
This module is a work in progress, and some archiving/display options are not yet functional. Basic content types work, views integration is in place, browsing works, strip-based archives work, but a number of archiving modes and several other essential features are not finished yet. Webcomic.module requires image.module for image uploading and display, and views.module for its archive listings.
Current features include:
- Maintain bios of every recurring character, listing them on a 'cast' page
- Organize strips by publish date, strip number, issue/episode, storyline, etc
- Scheduled publishing of individual strips and entire issues
- A convenient 'in-story timestamp' for each strip, to maintain continuity
Planned features include
- Customizable archive and browsing views
- Link character bios to each strip they appear in
- Customizable commenting can point readers to your forum to discuss a strip
See the README.txt and NOTES.txt for more details on current progress.
Note: The 5.x-1.x-dev is a development snapshot. Use it at at your own risk in production sites. The views integration is switched on (#215354) but is rudimentary. There are still some glaring glitches that would need to be fixed.
