Experimental project
This is a sandbox project, which contains experimental code for developer use only.
This project now lives at GitHub, as it has become a PHP library which can be used independently of Drupal. Check out the repo on GitHub. The code here on D.o is outdated and should not be used.
On the one side, PHP's cURL library and associated functions, which are very powerful, but kind of difficult to use. On the other, drupal_http_request(), which is (relatively) easy to use, but lacking in many features such as HTTP authentication and compressed response support. In the middle, Better Getter, a wrapper for PHP's cURL library which adds nice extra features such as parsing of HTTP headers and automatic cookie support.
