Experimental project
This is a sandbox project, which contains experimental code for developer use only.
Federal employees and contractors are issued Personal Identify Verification (PIV) compliant cards (often known as CAC cards) for authentication within government buildings, sites, and resources such as machines and other applications. This module supports the current PIV architecture in a variety of government sites, and allows users to login to a Drupal web application with only a client certificate in the browser.
A caveat: when setting up this module, there are a variety of specific configurations that must be implemented depending upon your server, DNS, Certificate Authority, and IP address. The Install file of this module goes into specifics about implementing this module on Apache2, with two virtual hosts running on two different IP Addresses. Other configuration options have not been tested at this time.
