Can anyone hep me out..

my primary links are like this:-
Education
-commerce
--bcom
--ca
-science
--mbbs
--bsc
Commercial
-home
-forum
--forum1
--forum2

Now i want to display 2 basic link that is Education and Commercial should display their child menu items on click that is commerce, science, home, forum and for the sub of these items superfish menu should be used.

But i am not getting the way how to do it.

Can anyone give me any idea that how these thing can be implemented?

Please reply me urgently. its a very urgent work to be done.

Editing Menu

Hello. I know this question might have an easy answer, but I cannot figure it out for some reason. I want to edit the menu that people see when they come to the website without logging in as visitors. I am using Drupal so my client can manage there content, so visitors don't need to login for any reason at all. For some reason though, any edits I make to the menu only appear in the admin left navigation bar when I am logged in, so visitors never see the changes. Any help would be appreciated.

So this is deprecated...?

Should we not abstain from suggesting the use of <i> and <b> tags since the use of presentational markup is discouraged. I would prefer to suggest the use of <em> and <strong> instead, that would get new users on to a good start.

If I have to buy one book, which do you recommend? Eventually I'd like to understand all the nitty gritty details of Drupal, but for now I just want to understand how to make a website from scratch. I already have Drupal installed on MAMP, and I've read some of the cookbook, but I'd really like something that is well written that is a better guide to creating a website from scratch.

In an attempt to illustrate a coherent "overhead view" of all the documentation at drupal.org and to suggest one possible "landing page" for the Documentation section, I've created a dynamic (javascript/HTML) outline of pretty much all of the Documentation at drupal.org. The outline itself is a logical hierarchy of links to the documentation, audio, and video at drupal.org. It also includes seperate indexes of the drupal audio and video, just for the sake of completeness.

Essentially, it's a portable front-end to the documented knowledge of the Drupal Project to-date.

It's useful for the following reasons:

It presents the user with an orderly approach to the Drupal Project, by rearranging the links to the existing documentation at drupal.org.
The first levels suggest the structure of one possible "landing page" for the Documentation section of drupal.org.
It's just one html file (724 KB), so it can be hosted anywhere, even as a local copy on a user's computer.
At the moment (as of Drupalcon Boston 2008 + a few days), it is relatively up-to-date.
It can be easily edited and updated by anyone, so it can remain up-to-date.
It is Creative Commons, Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0.
It's been tested in Firefox and Opera.

Introduction, and question about contributing

I'm a Drupal newbie. I'm also a professional technical writer with a lot of background in programming.

I used the Getting Started PDF as a guide to installing and configuring Drupal 5.7, and I kept a record of errors and possible improvements by annotating the PDF file. I'd like to ask what would be the best way to contribute this material .

I'm reluctant to make changes to the online manual for several reasons.

First, I believe that tutorial documentation is much more effective when delivered as a linear printable document than as a collection of Web pages; given the choice, I would much rather improve the PDF for this document than the HTML. Because of the differences between the two media, I know that some of my corrections could not be applied to the HTML documentation, and so would be lost even if it were reconverted to PDF.

Second, as I become more familiar with Drupal I sometimes realize that comments I have made are based on ignorance or misunderstanding, and I expect that process to continue for a while longer. For this reason I'm hesitant to make changes that will immediately be accessible online, even if they are subject to review.

I think we ought to mention somewhere in all the material on D6 that it's going to be a while before contrib modules catch up. Otherwise, a lot of new users are going to be making forum posts about why the modules they need aren't out for 6 yet -- assuming they don't just drop Drupal and move on to another CMS.

I don't see any mention of this on http://drupal.org/drupal-6.0

Easy Drupal-5.x maintenance and upgrades

Since Drupal keeps coming out with rapid updates, mainly due to security fixes, it was quite cumbersome to have to keep it up to date. However, with the below setup and the script to help with the maintenance, it was a breeze with the last couple of updates.

Note: My Drupal installation is not a standard install so usage may vary. Make sure you understand the script prior to running it. Usual disclaimer applies. You will also need root level access to shell to run the script as it is set to change ownership of files and folders using the "chown" command.

My current Drupal install is based on symbolic links for easy maintenance and upgrades. The layout is as below:

/var/www/html, /var/www/html/site_files, /var/www/html/sites are all symbolically linked to the /var/www/drupal-5.x, /var/www/drupal_files, /var/www/drupal_sites respectively where /var/www/html is the web root.

Document Root = /var/www/html -> /var/www/drupal-5.x
Files Folder = /var/www/html/site_files -> /var/www/drupal_files
Sites Folder = /var/www/html/sites -> /var/www/drupal_sites

Also, any customization to the .htaccess is on top of the default Drupal code. So the script will automatically prepend the data to the upgraded .htaccess file. Since, I also have the gallery module, the .htaccess file is also set to be writable by apache.
