Bio:

Jamie is a co-founder of FreelyGive and has become obsessed with AI!

FreelyGive specialised in Native Drupal CRM and worked with a number of charities and the rail industry building out business application on top of the Contacts module in Drupal. The work improving automation on a Drupal based claims management system led naturally to exploring AI.

From there FreelyGive worked with a number of people in the community and different AI projects but eventually came together under one roof with the AI module. An abstraction layer that allows you to build AI applications but swap out to different models including self-hosted models.

This work lead to Jamie co-leading a Drupal CMS AI agent and working with others including Marcus on the AI Agents that can perform operations for you. He truly believes that Drupal AI is the best place to orchestrate AI Agents and build AI applications in a transparent manner that keeps the human in the loop and allows for greater transparency through open source code and the visual site builder experience allowing non-developer to know what's happening.

He studied physics with philosophy and being from a techie background, was better at the physics but fell in love with the philosophy. He's always up for conversations about AI, Automation, Philosophy and videogames!

You can find him in #ai in Drupal slack, LinkedIn and at www.freelygive.io

History

I set up a church website with a bunch of other people when I was 16. It was based on phpbb and we tried turning it into a phpbb based CMS. The forum took off to some degree especially the praying side of things. Since then I've been trying to find a way to get what worked there (before Facebook was big) to the rest of the world.

I did a physics with philosophy degree but I massively prefer philosophy to the physics. I'm an avid gamer and just love gaming community, especially Starcraft.

I got into Drupal as a platform to build a church management system to handle managing those communities. Whilst exploring that idea we discovered that it would be beneficial if Drupal had a native Drupal CRM module. I gave us 3 months to build it.... 8 years later we're still here! We discovered that native Drupal CRM could benefit more then just the church and have expanded our clients to a variety of different industries both charities and commercial. Freely Give was founded to support this and we have been steadily growing.

Due to CRM software being heavily tied to a great deal more user data then most Drupal sites will capture, I have found myself getting very into GDPR and privacy in general. I've spent months of research, helped build the GDPR module and given a number of talks on the subject.

Shorter BIO for Events:

Jamie is co-founder of FreelyGive, a company that specialised in Native Drupal CRM solutions but is now obsessed with AI. He co-leads the Drupal CMS AI initiative and the AI module.

Originally working with charities and the rail industry on CRM systems, Jamie's journey into AI began through automation projects. This progressed naturally to AI where he is passionate about making AI accessible through open-source code and Drupal's visual site-builder experience, ensuring both developers and non-developers can understand and control their own personal swarms of Agents with any model they like.

With a video game obsessed techie background he could do physics at university but instead fell in love with Philosophy so you can find him talking about AI, Automation, Philosophy and games on #ai in the Drupal Slack, LinkedIn or the pub after Drupal events.

Drupal Contributions:

My aim is for there to eventually be a great Church Management System Distribution based on Drupal that can be supported by a software as a service business model. However this is a long way off and so my contributions have been primarily in:
