Problem/Motivation

Currently 8.x-1.x is the default development / checkout branch.

Only @wundo can change that currently, Could you please change this to 2.x to make it easier for developers to work on 2.x instead of accidentally checking out 8.x-1.x? Thanks :)

Default dev branch is still 2.x 8.x-1.x!

Although this could be a problem related to Drupal's Gitlab Instance being currently overloaded, see #3319123: "Issue fork creation failed!" after clicking "Create issue fork"
