Problem/Motivation

Due to the chosen implementation approach, this module is not compatible with MaxLength and other possible modules that extend the core field widgets.

Proposed resolution

Instead of writing new field widgets, use normal core ones and an alter hook + third party settings to achieve the functionality.

User interface changes

The field widget of the text fields where the feature provided by this module is used, need to be changed back in the form display configuration.
