Additional modules

Metatag for Drupal 9+ requires the following additional modules:

Token

Provides a popup browser to see the available tokens for use in meta tag forms.

PHP requirements

Metatag 8.x-1.x releases works with the same version of PHP that core requires.

Metatag 2.x releases require PHP 8.0.

The php.ini file needs to be configured with max_input_vars = 20000
