I'll submitting a patch to set watchdog messages according to the pre-defined watchdog severities, and include WATCHDOG_DEBUG option and code as well. I hope this one would help to find most of the issues floating around.

This patch just provides the functions and settings to save messages to watchdog without impacting seriously in performance. Code must be changed yet to use the mailhandler_watchdog_record() function instead of watchdog() directly.

This patch does only introduce usable code, but the module code must still be changed to make use of it.

The patch also removes the module variables when the module is uninstalled.
