Guys. I am very impressed with Drupal. Huge amount of functionality and a huge community. But I was surprised too. I'm looking for a module to connect drupal in the role of frontend to a MySQL database. The latter of course not the website system database. It seems there is no such thing available.
Two things: First, can someone make a module for this. I'm sure the demand is high for this. It would expand the Drupal functionality dramatically.
Second: Is there a way to circumvent this by "adopting" an other webpage into a Drupal website?
If so, I will use an other tool to create the database with related web based frontend and hook it up to the Drupal site. It is not what I would like but for now I do not see an other option.
I know CCK can make content types, as suggested in previous answers in the forum, but that is not the issue. The issue is that you need a connector to a database. If I understand it correctly, CCK does not provide this.
Regards
Ed
