I keep getting this error 'undefined index in update.fetch.inc on line 256' whenever module is installed. i did fresh install twice, but same thing is happening.

Is this something i can ignore? When i revisit module page, error is gone.

Got the same issue- fresh install, then go to /admin to see errors:

notice: Undefined index: in {basedir}/modules/update/update.fetch.inc on line 256.

Can reproduce - just refresh update status. Caused by XML tags with empty contents?

This happens on a plain D6 install. The patch looks good and seems to fix the issue. I checked that the error is D6-only so it should be ok to address it directly.

I guess we should get a feedback from @dww to be sure.
