I have a project that requires userpoints as the payment method but can't see any existing sulution to do this yet.. does anyone know if there is a workable solution yet?

I encourage you to chat with Berdir, the userpoints maintainer, about this as well. He may know of some things going on.

It's worth noting that Userpoints is itself integrated with Rules, which gives us some integration out of the box. That won't handle using points as a payment method, though... for that you'd have to do something similar to my UC Store Credit module (which integrated Userpoints with Ubercart).
