The Theme:Information section of the PDF Page of the view "complains" (red typeface...), that a views-pdf.tpl.php and other tpls are not in place?!
Red messages are e.g.:
views-pdf.tpl.php (file not found in sites/all/modules/views_pdf/)
views-pdf-unformatted.tpl.php (file not found in sites/all/modules/views_pdf/)
and so on...
Do I need them? Means should I set up the tpl.php´s in the mentioned directory?
Or is it only a possible/better way to do the entire "styling" with the field positioning settings?

ericpalace CreditAttribution: ericpalace commentedHi Hunziker and windm,
I've the same problem, and I just put in my drupal the last revision from 13th August, but this is not already fixed.
Also I've seen that all the tpls files are in the views_pdf/theme folder, and the view is trying to find them in the root folder, maybe here is part of the problem.
Just say too that I cannot find the file views-pdf-fields.tpl.php anywhere in the module, is just that you forget it or the normal views-fields.tpl.php is usable for the pdf display?
Please let me know how I can solve this because each time I want to see the pdf page display, i just see all the items one on the top of the other... I attach an example of the pdf i get.
Thanks in advance, I can help you developing it...

jQuery update 6.x-2.0-alpha1
TCPDF 5_9_132
FPDI 1.4.2
FPDF_TPL 1.2
I've the same problem.
The module works with the PDF-table style but not with PDF-unformatted style.
I copied the .tpls to my theme folder
looking at the views template information page seems the name of the views-view-unformatted--pdf.tpl.php is not correct. And should be views-pdf-unformatted--pdf.tpl.php.
The tpl views-pdf-fields.tpl.php is also missing. So I tried to create one with that name with the content of the row style output of the default display view.
By now I get a white page and no pdf with the PDF-unformatted style.
And a correct PDF with the PDF-table style (but useless for my puroposes).
thanks.

NonProfit CreditAttribution: NonProfit commentedI'm finding the same with 6.x-1.x. This is easily rectified by copying views_pdf/theme/views-pdf.tpl.php to the theme folder, but wanted to highlight that at least out of the box, the error still gets thrown.
Edit: Apparently this will have no effect as templates have been skipped. http://drupal.org/node/1224684#comment-4773060
