good day dear drupal-fans,

i am pretty new to Drupal and i am planning a site that makes usag of Drupal-Commons.

Well i heard lots of things about user-profiles: and yes i am in need of user-profiles.

Note;: there seem to be several Modules and extensions out there:

  • user-profile
  • rich unser profile
  • Profile Lite
  • profile

Well- can anybody tell me whats the deal with the different modules. Which one is actual - and developed within a sustainable way. Which one is used to run in drupal commons. Well i would love to see a demo!!!

all other things being equal, i usually pick the module that 1) has the most users, 2) is well maintained, and 3) has a responsible maintainer that I'm familiar with.

many thanks - great - i am happy with your answer. WELL as one that comes from the Joomla-Workd it is not so easy to find all the necessary things.

but i look forward to all drupal things.

First of all i will look for the sites that contain all the profile-Modules. I just browse the drupal sites - in order to find some of the above mentioned modules. Your advice is good - i think i will do it like you

Just have a look at the showcase - forum at drupal.org - on bigger projects you'll often find more information about used modules and best-practises..

I don't use anything special for finding modules-- just the module search page here on drupal.org sorted by 'most installed'.
