I have the Realname module working on my site and have created numerous user profiles that show it working. I have a token set up that uses a field I created "Full name" for the realname in the User profile.

I'm not sure if this suddenly happened or if I didn't notice it until now, but we were editing one of the user's profile and after saving the profile, the user's name reverted back to the "username" and not the "realname".

Any clue what happened and why it would revert back to username after editing the profile?

I just wanted to add a little more information...

I'm using Display Suite to control the layout and fields that are displayed in the user profile.

As I mentioned above, the "fullname" was showing for the profile initially, but we found that as soon as the profile is edited in anyway, the profile name changes to the username so, "Joe Choo" becomes "pkchoo".

I did entertain just displaying the "Full name" field in Display Suite and turning off the Node title for the User layout, but I wanted to wait to see if I could find a solution first, before I consider that and have to tweak the CSS. This was working so beautifully up till now.

Ok. I don't know why, but this issue has resolved itself. I checked the live site this week and the user's full name is now properly displaying on their profile page.

I honestly do not know what changed. I performed a number of updates a week before (core update to Drupal 7.10, media module update, etc...), but the issue still persisted after that. Then this week, while wandering around the site, I realized that the Full names were showing again.

I'm glad that it's working, but I am not comfortable with not knowing why.

As of yesterday (maybe today), the problem came back. When any edits are made to a user's profile the realname no longer shows and the user name appears. Actually, at this point, I'm not even sure if the profile needs to be edited for this issue to occur. It looks like every profile is affected (or every profile has been touched at this point).

I did nothing to the realname module or any of the profile settings.

Interestingly, both the dev site and production site seem to be affected at the same time. Both were fine the past few weeks and suddenly both now have the issue again. I primarily use the dev site to test changes and updates. The two databases and sites are not synced at all.

Anybody have a clue as to what is affecting this?

I have the same problem.

When a user creates an account the real name is populated correctly, however, after editing the profile the real name is not correct (in my case just the last name).

Fairly clean install, seeing this or something like it -- if the profile was populated before I installed the module, it works. Any new profiles, it doesn't.
