I'm curious what exactly is the reason for for changing the page title to the node type if your not viewing a page content type?

Is this just a feature of the theme?

This seems like a bug.

If it isn't a bug it should be configurable.

I am having a similar issue, if not the same. I use many Panel node types and the Title is not displaying in the same fashion as a basic page node.

A patch for this would be very very easy but I'm swamped even for that.

If you want a hot fix now, just comment the code in the page process in template.php

For a legit patch, I would suggest a theme setting that lets the user turn this on or off maybe?

That is design of this theme, we can remove that function to show like Drupal default
