Confusion over Pathauto patterns setting

Nice module, it works great with the suggested path. It is of a great use and this rather simple yet very useful feature has been missing.

I would like to receive more information over the new pattern form called "Taxonomy term paths for i18n". At this point I have two places where to set patterns for taxonomy terms. These are "Taxonomy term paths for i18n" and "Taxonomy term paths". Changing the pattern in the first one does not seem to have any effect when saving a new taxonomy term (did not try the bulk update though). When saving a new term, the "Taxonomy term paths" seems to do the trick. What is the use of "Taxonomy term paths for i18n" then? For bulk updates?
