We really prefer the flexibility of webforms, but all our events use price sets. Its very hard to avoid for us as many scenarios require this. Any chance you plan to support in future?

The short answer is no.
Currently the longish-range plan is to move the functionality of this module into civicrm core, eventually supplanting the profile system.

move into core - fantastic! But won't that only be for drupal?
Unfortunately, we will have to stick it out with profiles until then :(.

Nope, not just for Drupal, so the core vesion would not use the webform module.
Because of the great cms integration I think this module will always have a place, but hopefully it will soon not be needed simply to fill basic missing features in core.

Nice - I think Civi can benefit borrowing from webform, but hopefully we can still use webform as it will continue to outpace civi and has great drupal integration. The priceset issue is quite significant though. I find that almost all events/contributions eventually need price sets because of things like service charges, etc. and its a shame we are locked out of using webform. On the other hand I get that there is no sense in investing in throw-away code. Any idea what it would take to add some basic support? Any ETA on core integration. Thanks again for such a wonderful contribution to civi!

was wondering if there is an update on this. is it a foregone conclusion that you will not go the webform route? we are using webform compatible modules and if webform will not be supported in future, would like to know now. Would a MIH for price support make sense?

There has recently been some exploration in integrating civicrm data with drupal entities and fields, although nothing concrete has come about yet. There is also, I believe, civicrm integration with ubercart and commerce. And (I think) integration with those cart modules and webform.
Perhaps you could explore what's missing in that stack and we could see how much glue it will take to fill the gap.

I haven't heard of any integration with Commerce and CiviCRM yet but am sure it is coming.
There is
- uc_civicrm
- uc_civicrm_product

Using them together in D6 delivers, but we found neither by itself was sufficient.

I think we also concluded that while uc and webform has some integration we were unable to use that to then pass on the necessary info to uc such that it could then pass it on to civicrm
