I am running the latest 7.x-2.x-dev of File Entity Module and whenever I want to configure it, i.e. configure the file type settings (admin/structure/file-types), all I get is a white screen and the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function file_info_file_types() in [...]/sites/all/modules/file_admin/file_admin.module on line 159

Have you been able to resolve this? I am having a similar problem.

No, but I didn't really need this module anyway and removed it. Sorry.

The module is designed to be used with the latest unstable release of media 2.x. Looks like there's been a change in the media 2.x dev branch. I'll look at fixing up the code to work with the dev branch, but meantime you can try it with media 7.x-2.0-unstable6.

If I roll back, is there are db changes that I need to worry about? Never mind -- I looked in the install files. There is a problem with rolling back, since 7.x-2.x-dev has a schema version of 7204, where as unstable6 has one of 7202.

Don't know, you'd need to check the media module.

Seems a Media module bug indeed.

I ve been a front this error, and changed 'file_info_file_types' by 'file_info_formatter_types', and all is nice.

//  if (!file_info_file_types($file->type)) {
     if (!file_info_formatter_types($file->type)) {
          $file->type = media_get_type($file);
  }
