Compatability with Contact Form Module [#1814844]

A past issue described the problem I am having. It is marked fixed but either it was not fixed or it has recurred.

I see there is not much activity on this module but am hoping as there does not appear to be any other way to do what I want to do which is add a phone number field to my contact form/s in D6 and D7.

I was wondering if you saw the the post that the developer of the "Contact Forms" module made on the other thread? - https://drupal.org/node/848596#comment-6621856 ?

It is comment no 26.

He suggests a way to make the two modules work together.

How was Diwali? Hoping you have time to work on this. One of these days I need to figure out how to work on modules myself. I'd be happy to help if I knew how.
