Hi
Would it be possible to create a general user (i.e. our compnay) so we easily can do translations via l10n client via our user/1 account in our projects?
Yours truly
Adam

killes@www.drop.org commentedI am not sure I understand this request. Are you talking about an account on drupal.org that you want to create?
adamevertsson commentedWe produce several new Drupal projects every quarter and since we are a Swedish company we would like to offer our clients as much Swedish as possible. Up til today we only submit new translations to our local drupal distribution, but we want to help the translation and when I found the translation client (http://drupal.org/project/l10n_client) we saw an opportunity to do this in an effective way.
But since we use admin-user in 95% of our work in which we have an opportunity to submit translations via the translation client I was looking for a way to give the user/1 the API of a special drupal.org user. There are also several different persons logged in as user/1 translating the backend.
Would you say that the solution to this is to create a drupal.org user that is our company, i.e. Kodamera, and use that users API key to submit the proposed translations.
Or is there some other way we could solve this?
Yours truly,
Adam

killes@www.drop.org commentedGenerally, we do not like to have group or role accounts, but in this case we probably should dispens off this. A condition would be that the account should only be used for translations and nothing else.
Opinions?

adamevertsson commentedNot from me, this is exactly what we need to help out with the translations.
Thank you very much for your answer.

killes@www.drop.org commentedI hope to get some more feedback when the US gets back to work next week.

gregglesMakes sense to me to have that special rule. I think the biggest problem with shared accounts is when they are posting nodes or comments on contentious issues and it becomes harder to track down a real "1 account = 1 person = 1 voice." I'd be fine with 1 account being used to post translations by multiple users.
Re-titling to make the issue more clear and hopefully draw in more perspectives.

zirvap commentedSounds OK to me. Since you are planning to translate to Swedish, I suggest you contact the admins of Swedish ( http://localize.drupal.org/translate/languages/sv ) and ask for their input.

gregglesEven though this is older I think we should make this a duplicate of #1863498: Create Basis for ToS to allow organizations to share accounts since that issue has morphed and now includes this idea. It has more conversation and attention, so better to focus efforts there, IMO.
