Dear all,
Please suggest a good managed hosting server for a site made in DRUPAL 6.20.
The site attracts a lot of traffic.
It could be a shared account or VPS but it should not be unmanaged hosting.
I look forward to a lot of suggestions.
Regards,

Does DRUPION offer root
Does DRUPION offer root access. How many sites are placed on a server in shared accounts ? Do they charge for after sales support ? i am sure there will be some issue or the other which will come up some time or the other.
If the site is experiencing OOM issues will the support team look up and find the offending module ?
Thanks in advance,
Veerendra Darakh
Hi Veerendra,Does DRUPION
Hi Veerendra,
Yes, we do provide root access for all our virtual private and dedicated servers. For shared package specs please see http://drupion.com/hosting/shared-drupal-hosting. You can host unlimited number of websites, unlimited user, e-mail and FTP accounts on any of our virtual private or dedicated servers.
During sign-up process you will be offered to additionally select the Full Server Administration option, which enables you to submit unlimited support request. And yes, not only we take full care of all server and hosting related issues, updates, upgrades, but also we help to address Drupal-related issues, to identify performance bottlenecks of your Drupal setup.
VPS would be a good choice
VPS would be a good choice for you. But do you have server location preference for your site?
Server location
Server location could be anywhere as long it is managed, safe and sturdy and support staff should be competent and helpful
In which state are you
In which state are you expecting the server should be located?
I personally recommend Netwok
I personally recommend Netwok Panda hosting. Cheap, Secure and fast.
Do not recommend Drupion
I see that Drupion was recommended - I have to say that I do not recommend it. I used their service for a couple of years - their system is alright, but my server was quite slow even though it was for use in the USA (their servers are based in Southern California with Hurricane Electric).
The problem is their support system is terrible and they ended up getting the server operating system hacked which took out my site for hours and hours - I ended up having to perform a complete emergency migration from the platform as they couldn't even tell me when it would be back up. Lesson learned about having a good contingency plan in place if your webhost turns out to have a major problem like that - perform regular externally-hosted backups and have a clear emergency migration plan in place.
I seccond this!
We had quite a few websites on this host and they have horrid customer service. Rather than work to resolve any issue the guy will call you names and tell you to leave. If everything is working they are great, but when there is an issue good luck. This host is clearly a very small company. They do not have chat or phone support and can take hours to respond in tickets. Our hosting turned into a complete nightmare and cost us over 50% of our traffic. Even when websites are crashing the host will act like it's all your fault.
