On the settings page the username for UID1 is displayed in the option description,

"Check this box to prevent the user with UID 1 (username) from showing up in ..."

Showing the username is not really necessary it is clear in the setting that it is user1.

Even though this is only visible to site admins we find it unnecessary for others to see the username of UID1 when working with different sites and different admins and developers.

I think it's right to show the username as this makes it impeccably clear what you're doing. I suspect you're going to find more people who want the username than don't, particularly after skimming the original issue this comes from.
