This would be a good idea as right now there is no option to link slides to content.

Just thinking about this and thought I would test it out.

Since the configuration panel is accessed by administrator users only I have not cleaned any HTML markup from the 'caption' field so it is possible to insert html within those fields.

<href="node/1">link text</a>

You will be able to insert suck links into the field and it will work as a link within the caption area.
