While the new search interface is interesting, in previous versions of the module you could paste in a URL, ala:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CLCOvZOh1o

And click submit, this would go ahead and add the YouTube Video. Now when pasting a URL and clicking submit, you get the error "Please select a video" and are taken back to the Upload tab. You then have to understand that you click the Search tab, and select the video you were hoping for from the results.

Is this now the expected behavior?

I'm also experiencing this problem in 2.0-rc3, despite the fact that the project homepage says "A YouTube search tab is available in the 2.x-dev versions, but is commented out in the stable release."

See attached screenshot.

Generally speaking, the whole video search functionality is buggy in 2.0-rc3. Personally, I would like to just be able to paste in the URL, or have a configuration option so I can turn the search on/off until all of the issues are resolved.

I will comment on the other bugs in different issues.

I'm having the same problem. Ultimately this the "web" tab is not showing up despite it being enabled in both my field and the media browser for when I use it within WYSIWYG.

However, it is working on a clean local install of Drupal and the same media components and requirements, and all of the same settings. Both are running Media and File Entity 7.x-2.0-unstable7 and Media YouTube 7.x-2.0-rc3. The attached screenshot shows the differences between my main site (top) and the clean install (bottom).

I am going to continue to investigate the problem, but wanted to check in here to see if anyone had any ideas of why this is happening. The main difference between this site and the clean install is that I upgraded from an older version of media and media you tube on this one. I did uninstall all the old stuff first before upgrading and I've also run a database update since, but I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. Have either of you also upgraded from Media 1.x?

Same thing for me :(

And yes, I did update from an earlier version too.

I'm not seeing anything to do with the web tab anywhere either.

Try clearing the cache and edit the field settings and you should see the web option to enable which will then allow you to paste the url or embed code. Worked for me...

Tried that multiple times already thanks.

I've had to uninstall and just create my own custom formatter with the "custom formatters" module instead.

If anybody wants an export of the custom formatter setup, the export is attached as a text file. Installed the module. Import the text from within the file and you should see a new formatter for output rendering in your "manage fields" tab of the content type.
