I have a textarea element that has a #maxlength set, if understand the readme.txt correctly soft length should just work on these. Do I have to do anything special to get custom made elements to work with soft length?

The supplied patch depends upon a patch that will be submitted by my colleague.

The status of this will be changed to "Needs Review" following submission of that patch.
