I have installed Webform 7.x-4.0-alpha9, after reading the 'Which version should I choose' as I want to use multiple conditional settings, to show/hide civi fields depending on previous answers.
After installing the Webform_civicrm 7.x-3.5 or 7.x-3.x-dev module the mandatory check box field is rendered outside of the Webform table. See attached image. Prior to installing the Webform_civicrm module the mandatory field rendering correctly within the table row/columns.

Since version 4 of this module is not out yet, if you want to use Webform 4, just be sure to use a version no later than alpha-6. Then when version 4 of this module is released you'll be able to upgrade both.
