Update manager failed to fetch updates (failed to update)

The update manager in my fresh new drupalpro reports there are 190 updates. Nice!
But after clicking apply it reports it 'can't fetch updates' 190 times.

running sudo apt-get update from a terminal fixes this. Afterwards update manager runs normally.

Issue is very likely related to #1698260: upgrade gave many errors .
